The Central Arizona Chapter has been serving Phoenix, Tempe, and other communities in central Arizona since its founding in 1967. We are the local joint chapter of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, with an active membership of over 100 operational professionals, broadcast meteorologists, academics, students, and weather enthusiasts. American Meteorological Society
Founded in 1919, the American Meteorological Society (AMS) is the nation’s premier scientific and professional organization promoting and disseminating information about the atmospheric, oceanic, hydrologic sciences. Our more than 13,000 members include scientists, researchers, educators, broadcast meteorologists, students, weather enthusiasts, and other professionals in the fields of weather, water, and climate.
The NWA is a professional association supporting and promoting excellence in operational meteorology and related activities since 1975. Members have many opportunities to share information, news, studies and concerns related to operational meteorology and to network with great people in a wide variety of careers (from well-known senior professionals to weather enthusiasts).
